Seeking a Friend for the End of The World stars Steve Carell (The Office) and Kiera Knightly (Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean). When a space shuttle explodes in the middle of a asteroid field, it causes an asteroid to pummel through space, and directly into the path of Earth. With only have three weeks left to live. While Dodge (Steve Carell) is looking at some old photos and, he sees Penny(Kiera Knightly) sobbing on his fire escape after breaking up with her boyfriend. Upon realizing they are neighbors Penny gives Dodge all of his mail that has been sent to her apartment. By mistake, Dodge(Steve Carell) discovers a letter from his first girlfriend who he now wants to find before the end comes.
This movie strikes a lot of thought into what I would do if I found out that the world was ending in three weeks, or not even the world but some super crazy virus that takes over my body, go on rabid riot spree and destroy everything in my path? Or maybe completely shut down and deny that the whole situation is happening. This tale of an unlikely catastrophic event had you feeling all emotions. From laughing to tears, this movie makes you think about how great everything you have is now. For all you know an asteroid could fall out of the sky and kill us all.
